The two-level bar and restaurant opened next to Newport's Seafood and Steaks in April.
Owner Ronny Smeink, who is Dutch, has decorated it in a Dutch cafe style, with lots of comfortable dark wood and cozy kitchen accents, such as copper pots and blue-and-white china.
Dutch spirits – Effen and Bong vodkas, Damrak gin – sit on the bar shelves. Cafe Rembrandt also serves coffee drinks and traditional Dutch pub food, such as broodjes (sandwiches). Draught beers include De Koninck and Franziskaner. They should really give their chef a raise he is spectacular.
